Even as a fan of Snow White and the Huntsman, I am not pleased with Rupert Sanders' new role in the live action, Ghost in the Shell

According to Deadline, Rupert Sanders, director of Snow White and the Huntsman, will direct Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks production of Ghost in the Shell.

Oh, I know your reactions:

"This is going to be twerrible. Twilight! Blah Blah Blah, Kristen Stewart, Team Twilight, blah, blah, blah!"

Ok

But Snow White and the Huntsman was not that bad. Rupert Sanders had decent special effects, which was way more darker and compelling of a story than Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland.

However, although I am unsure whether Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii originally intended it to be or not, the original 1995 film ended up being a piece of art, whereas this film looks to be cheap Hollywood entertainment, based on the choice of director they've chosen.

In Snow White and the Huntsman, they created a terrible dystopia, where the characters were forced to do terrible things to each other, based on circumstances that were beyond their control, which was told pretty good actually..

And I must admit that Sanders did do a good job at making Charlize Theron, a sympathetic queen, a character, possibly even real.

And if Ridley Scott had went from Black Rain to Blade Runner, I would've been surprised as well.

But you have to admit that Spielberg and Co, did not go exactly with I don't know- RIDLEY SCOTT to do it?

Oh well. Time to wait for the internet to react, or for bad production news.
